Like so many others, my family emigrated from Italy to America at the turn of the 20th Century seeking a better way of life. They settled in one of the many Italian enclaves of New York at that time. These neighborhoods acted as safe havens for the traditions, culture, food and way of life of Italian immigrants. Many traditions and customs have been lost over time, but there is one thing that we have not lost and never will – pasta.
How did we get our start?
Our experiences sharing food with the people close to us build rich relationships and special memories. Memories like making gnocchi with my nonna are what inspired “PastaVirtuoso” as an experiment in making and sharing excellent, homemade food, especially pasta, and eventually grew into a desire to bring those experiences to others in their own kitchens.
